First South Farm Credit to Cover First-Year Membership Fee for New Sweet Grown Alabama Members

Montgomery, Ala. – Sweet Grown Alabama is proud to announce a new partnership with First South Farm Credit designed to strengthen support for Alabama farmers and expand opportunities within the state’s agricultural community. From January through March 2026, First South Farm Credit will generously cover the first-year Sweet Grown Alabama membership fee for any Alabama farmer, product maker, restaurant or retailer interested in joining the state’s agricultural branding program.

This limited-time partnership gives new and emerging producers the chance to access the many benefits of Sweet Grown Alabama to connect with new customers and ensure financial sustainability. Through this sponsorship, First South Farm Credit continues its longstanding mission of investing in rural communities, young beginning and small farmers, and helping agricultural businesses thrive.

First South Farm Credit expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and its impact on the agricultural community.

“Supporting Sweet Grown Alabama aligns perfectly with our mission,” said John Sport, First South Farm Credit Vice President. “We want to help Alabama farmers grow their businesses, reach more customers and build thriving operations. Covering the first-year membership cost is one way we can invest in their success.”

Sweet Grown Alabama membership provides producers with tools to enhance visibility, including a customizable online profile, use of the Sweet Grown Alabama logo, marketing assistance, promotional opportunities, social media features and eligibility for program-driven campaigns and events. By joining the program, members become part of a statewide network working together to highlight the value of local products and strengthen Alabama’s agricultural economy.

“We are incredibly grateful to First South Farm Credit for their commitment to Alabama agriculture,” said Ellie Watson, Sweet Grown Alabama Director. “Their willingness to sponsor new member fees opens the door for more farmers and producers to market their products, grow their reach and deepen connections with consumers looking to buy local.”

Eligible new members can sign up anytime from January 1 through March 31, 2026.
