Located in Southeast Alabama and a fourth generational family farm property, Jack’s Pepper Patch is known for fresh seasonal produce, free-range eggs, homemade hot sauces, pickled items and seasonal pepper jelly varieties. In the summer, you can find us at local farmers markets and easily order directly via the Facebook page for local delivery and farm pickup. With a love for giving back to the community and a heart for service, Jack’s Pepper Patch stands out among the rest; friendly folks, kind faces and a lot of smiles in between!
What started as a knack for growing fresh, organic produce improved over the years into something more remarkable. John had smaller plots of gardens and always enjoyed working in the fields using his hands, which he considered one of God’s best hidden and special talents. Through his hands and passion for being a "big kid" playing in the dirt, he enjoyed the seasons of planting crops and watching the fruits of his labor produce. In 2017, John’s daughter, Maranda, had a vision to turn the family farm into a more sustainable small business, and just like that, the name Jack’s Pepper Patch became known! The name Jack comes from the fact that John’s nickname to co-workers was always Jack.

In 2017, Jack’s Pepper Patch participated in the first annual farmers market for the City of Taylor which is central to the rural communities on the outskirts of Dothan. The first season of market served the business well, and the more festivals, markets, and events Jack's Pepper Patch participated in, the more the community supported and still continues to bless Jack’s Pepper Patch. As time marched forward, John's daughter Maranda would eventually lead Jack’s, become the City of Taylor farmers market manager and brand the business to the scale it is today!

In January 2024, John suddenly passed away, and the only way Maranda sought closure was to continue to serve the community with the same purpose and vision John had for Jack’s Pepper Patch. 2024 was a challenging year, but brought forth many new opportunities for impact; one of those opportunities was becoming involved in Sweet Grown Alabama. In the spring of 2024, Jack’s Pepper Patch launched a strategic partnership with Sweet Grown Alabama in order to continue to scale the business and seek new growth pathways and partnerships. Jack’s Pepper Patch has never looked back since.
Jack’s Pepper Patch continues to serve the communities by delivering superior produce and products with a happy heart! As we approach year nine of market season, keep Jack’s Pepper Patch in mind for all your seasonal produce and pepper needs. Just give us a shout on Facebook.
