Raising your own steer or hog is one thing, but finding a reliable and clean place to get it processed is a challenge of its own. Sweet Grown Alabama processing facilities across the state are eager to help you fill your freezer with quality meat.
You’ve put in the work, you’ve raised an animal to finish weight, but now what? Calling and booking a processing date months in advance was not on your to-do list and some of your animals hit goal finishing weight at different times. You are not the only person this has happened to, and it probably will happen again.
Having a friend in your processor can go a long way. Sweet Grown Alabama processors want to answer your questions, gain your trust and help you make decisions regarding your animals.
“We are ready to welcome farmers and consumers with open arms,” said Joey Mason, Mason Hills Farm Owner. “Our USDA inspected facility can process 500 steers per month and we are constantly looking to grow.”
Many Sweet Grown Alabama processors raise cattle themselves, so they understand what it takes to rear a steer to market weight. They know what it means to be a local farmer and go through challenges. Put your animals in their hands and see what a difference working with a Sweet Grown Alabama member can make.
