Our first stop on the Sweet Grown Alabama Wine Trail is Jules Berta Winery & Pizza in Albertville. At an elevation of 1,100 feet, this winery features grape varietals including Cabernet, Petit Syrah and Sylvaner. With gorgeous vineyard views, al fresco dining and wood-fired pizza, Jules Berta Winery & Pizza is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or relax with good company.

Head farther south to Chambers County to the town of Five Points, home of  – you guessed it – Five Points Farm. With 20 sprawling acres and over 3,000 wine grapevines, Five Points Farm has a family-friendly atmosphere and picture-perfect vineyard. The grapes hanging off the vine look too perfect to eat.

Boasting a 15-acre vineyard with enough varieties of grapes to produce over 11 types of wine, Whippoorwill Vineyards is a hidden Macon County gem in the town of Notasulga. Located just off Highway 14, 20 minutes outside Auburn, they offer wines ranging from sweet to dry and everything in between to satisfy a wide range of palates. They host wine tastings and tours during business hours. 

Our last stop in south Alabama is  Junavelli Winery in Brewton, a small town in Escambia County. Located off US-31 South, they carry a variety of flavors to quench any thirst. From Southern Sweet Blueberry to delicious Muscadine, Junavelli’s award-winning wines make a great stop on the way to Alabama’s beaches. Stop by the quaint tasting room and pick up some pepper jelly while you’re there.
